MEDININAGAR – Shaheed Sheikh Bhikhari’s sacrifice during India’s freedom struggle was commemorated on Wednesday in Bedma Babhandi, Ramgarh block. The event, organized by the Rashtriya Momin Conference, highlighted Bhikhari’s role in achieving independence and inspired attendees to work for the nation’s progress.

Tribute to Sheikh Bhikhari

Jharkhand Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, the event’s chief guest, praised Sheikh Bhikhari’s contributions, stating, “It is because of sacrifices by icons like Sheikh Bhikhari that we enjoy fundamental rights such as education and free speech.” Kishore emphasized the need for development in remote villages like Bedma Babhandi, particularly in areas such as healthcare, roads, and education.

He urged political leaders and public representatives to commit to fulfilling the objectives of independence and added, “It is our collective responsibility to guard the region’s interests and ensure progress.”

Calls for Unity and Women Empowerment

The minister also highlighted the state government’s initiatives, such as the Maiya Samman Yojana, benefiting women significantly. National Momin Conference President Humayun Ansari called for unity, recounting the historical decisions made during 1945 to maintain communal harmony and reject division.

Other notable speakers, including former mayor Aruna Shankar, Congress district president Jaish Ranjan Pathak, and JMM leader Avinash Dev, urged the youth to draw inspiration from Sheikh Bhikhari’s patriotism.

Large Attendance and Community Involvement

The event witnessed participation from various community leaders and public representatives, including Channel District Council member Faizal Ahmed, Ramgarh block head Premni Devi, and several others from the Momin Conference. They collectively emphasized the importance of national unity and dedication to progress.
