JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant breakthrough, Jamshedpur police exposed a bike theft gang and arrested seven individuals, recovering five stolen motorcycles and numerous parts.
Arrest and Initial Investigation
Acting on a tip-off, the police set up an anti-crime checkpoint late at night near Jawahar Nagar Road No. 15, opposite Nature Park in Mango. During the operation, three youths on a motorcycle tried to flee upon seeing the police but were quickly apprehended. Upon interrogation, the suspects revealed the bike was stolen and led the police to additional stolen motorcycles and parts.
Gang Members Identified
The arrested individuals include Sheikh Sajim, Abdul Kalam Malik alias Kalam, Mohammed Shahbaz, Mohammed Adil, Minhajuddin Ansari, Mohammed Feroz, and Mohammed Imran. Their confessions helped uncover the gang’s operations across Jamshedpur, Seraikela, and nearby areas.
Police Efforts and Recovery
A team led by Headquarters DSP Bhola Prasad Singh conducted raids based on the information provided by the suspects. The raids revealed the gang’s method of stealing motorcycles, dismantling them, and selling parts in the black market. The operation was supported by Mango police station in-charge Niranjan Kumar and other officers.

City SP Kumar Shivashish stated, “The gang was skilled in altering parts and selling them. This arrest has not only exposed a well-organized network but also prevented further crimes. Our officers worked diligently to ensure success in this operation.”

The raiding team included officers like Umesh Kumar Modi, Mahendra Kumar, Assistant Sub-inspector Mohan Kumar, and constables like Santosh Kumar, who played crucial roles in apprehending the culprits.
