Mango MLA Sets 1-Week Deadline for Fixing Water Supply Issues
Saryu Roy Demands Action on Non-functional Tank, Pipeline Repairs
Key Points:
- MLA orders immediate meeting with water department and contractors
- Five-year-old water tank project remains unconnected to main pipeline
- Multiple areas including Ramnagar, Shyamnagar face severe water scarcity
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy has given Mango Municipal Corporation a week’s ultimatum to resolve the area’s drinking water crisis.
The MLA contacted Deputy Municipal Commissioner. He requested an urgent meeting with key stakeholders.
Meanwhile, several localities face water shortages. The situation affects thousands of residents daily.
Infrastructure Concerns
A major water tank project remains inactive. The facility was built on former Forest Department land.
Moreover, the tank passed operational trials. However, it still lacks connection to the main pipeline.
Action Plan
The corporation plans to begin work on Monday. Officials aim to restore water supply within seven days.
Furthermore, the MLA has suggested keeping backup pumps. This measure would prevent supply interruptions.
“Regular maintenance is crucial for consistent supply,” stated a water department official. The corporation has previously undertaken similar improvement projects.
