Jamshedpur Trailer Owners Union Threatens Protest Over Traffic Woes

Union Demands Action on Congestion, Rate Hike, and Local Employment

Key Points:

  • Severe traffic jams in Burmamines area remain unresolved
  • Union demands local tenders and rate hike for trailer operators
  • Threatens to disrupt Tata company production if issues persist

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Local Trailer Owners Union is preparing for a protest over worsening traffic congestion, falling operational rates, and lack of support for local operators.

24-Hour Traffic Congestion in Burmamines

At a meeting held on Friday at the union office, President Jaykishore Singh expressed concern over the constant traffic jams in the Burmamines parking area. He stated that the congestion persists 24 hours a day, causing significant trouble for trailer drivers and local residents.

Singh criticized the Tata company management for failing to address the issue. He pointed out that severe jams often block ambulances, creating life-threatening delays.

Demand for Local Tenders and Rate Hike

The union president further accused Tata company of awarding tenders to outsiders, which has resulted in a continuous drop in rates. Local trailer owners and their employees are suffering financially while residents endure pollution from the company’s operations.

“This cannot be tolerated any longer. The fight will be decisive this time,” Singh declared. He emphasized that if the company fails to resolve the issues within 4-5 days, the union will disrupt production activities.

A Call for Immediate Action

The union has demanded prompt measures to reduce congestion and prioritize tenders for local businesses. The growing frustration among trailer owners highlights the need for immediate intervention from Tata management.
