JAMSHEDPUR – A devastating fire broke out early today at the Mango fish market in Jamshedpur, causing significant financial damage to local vendors.
The blaze, which started in the early hours, resulted in goods worth thousands being destroyed. Vendors reported that the fire caused losses ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹1.5 lakh, with the most severely impacted losing entire inventories.
Local residents and shopkeepers immediately alerted authorities as the fire spread rapidly. A fire brigade team arrived on the scene promptly and managed to extinguish the flames after a prolonged effort. While the fire has been controlled, an assessment of the total damage is still underway.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. However, vendors suspect an electrical short circuit as a possible reason. "We believe it could be due to a short circuit, but there’s no confirmation yet," stated one of the affected vendors.
