Government Departments Fail to Implement Court-Ordered Honorarium Increase

Key Points:

  • Daily honorarium for home guards increased to Rs 1088 from Rs 500
  • Over 400 home guards affected across Jamshedpur government offices
  • Home guard association appeals to Deputy Commissioner for intervention

JAMSHEDPUR – Local home guards face payment delays as multiple government departments fail to implement court-mandated honorarium increase from August 2024.

The Jharkhand High Court mandated the pay increase.

Moreover, the state government issued implementation orders in August.

The new daily rate stands at Rs 1088.

Meanwhile, the previous honorarium was Rs 500 per day.

Several key institutions have not complied yet.

These include BSNL’s Golmuri office and DVC units.

Furthermore, electricity departments in multiple areas show non-compliance.

The affected locations include Pratishtha Baharagora and Ghatshila.

In addition, UCIL facilities have not implemented the hike.

“Our members deserve timely payment of revised honorarium,” states a senior association representative.

The situation affects guard deployment across institutions.

Meanwhile, many guards have stopped reporting for duty.

Home Raksha Vahini Lok Sevak Sangh seeks immediate action.

Moreover, they have approached the East Singhbhum District Magistrate.

The organization represents home guards across Jharkhand.

Furthermore, similar issues occurred in 2022 with previous pay revisions.

In addition, home guards provide essential security services statewide.

However, delayed implementation affects their morale significantly.

The association hints at possible protests ahead.
