JAMSHEDPUR – The anticipation in Jamshedpur is palpable as the vote counting for the recently concluded Jharkhand Assembly elections is scheduled to commence on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
The process will begin at 7 AM with the counting of postal ballots, followed by Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at 8 AM.
The counting for the six assembly constituencies of East Singhbhum district will take place at the Cooperative College campus in Jamshedpur.
Strict Access and Confidentiality Measures
District Election Officer Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal conducted a detailed briefing at the Cooperative College premises on the procedures for the day.
Officials have enforced a no-entry policy for anyone without valid passes to prevent unauthorized access.
The use of mobile phones, electronic devices, and inflammable substances is strictly prohibited within the premises.
Strict confidentiality guidelines are in place, prohibiting any photography or video recording of EVM displays to ensure the integrity of the process.
Emergency Services and Preparedness
Health and emergency services are on standby to address any potential issues.
The Civil Surgeon has arranged for medical camps, ambulances, and medical teams to be stationed at the site from 5 AM onwards.
Fire safety measures include the deployment of fire tenders and trained personnel, while liquor shops in the area will remain closed on counting day, as directed by the Assistant Commissioner of Excise.
Enhanced Security Arrangements
Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal confirmed the implementation of robust security measures.
Quick Response Teams (QRTs), anti-riot squads, and personnel equipped with helmets, batons, and body protectors will ensure safety throughout the day.
All station in-charges have been instructed to intensify patrolling and ensure law and order in their respective jurisdictions.
