Key Points:

– Focus on postal ballot counting and EVM procedures in two phases.

– Final duty assignments to be announced on the last day of training.

JAMSHEDPUR – With the Jharkhand Assembly Elections vote counting scheduled for November 23, a three-day training program for vote counting personnel began on Tuesday at Michael John Auditorium in Bistupur.

On the first day, attendees received instructions on postal ballot counting procedures. Nodal officer and ITDA director Dipankar Chaudhary shared that the training will occur in two shifts over three days.

The first phase focuses on postal ballot counting, while the second phase will cover electronic voting machine (EVM) procedures. This comprehensive training involves counting staff, agents, observers, and micro-observers.

Chaudhary emphasized the randomization of training assignments to ensure impartiality, stating that no staff member has been informed about their specific duties yet. "Final assignments will be decided only on the last day," he added.

The vote counting is set to take place at Co-operative College in Jamshedpur, with staff being prepared to handle the process seamlessly and without errors.

This initiative ensures that counting staff are well-equipped to manage both postal ballots and EVM counting efficiently and transparently.
