EVM Monitoring Intensifies Ahead of Counting for Jamshedpur East Polls

BJP workers ensure round-the-clock surveillance of EVMs stored in strong room.

Key Points:

– Counting of votes for Jamshedpur East Assembly seat on November 23.

– BJP workers monitor EVMs at Cooperative College strong room in shifts.

– CCTV and paramilitary deployed for tight security of stored EVMs.

JAMSHEDPUR – The fate of candidates contesting in the Jamshedpur East Assembly seat was sealed in EVMs during the November 13 polls, and preparations for the November 23 counting are in full swing.

EVMs from six constituencies in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha region are stored at the Cooperative College strong room under 24/7 paramilitary and CCTV surveillance.

To ensure transparency and security, BJP has deployed party workers in shifts to monitor the EVMs of the Jamshedpur East constituency.

CCTV screens installed at the nearby Law College building allow continuous observation of the EVMs, ensuring that they remain untampered.

The monitoring teams, comprising BJP leaders and workers, operate from tents set up on the Cooperative College grounds.

Despite the cold weather, workers remain vigilant, often engaging in discussions about future election strategies and light-hearted conversations to stay motivated.

On Saturday, BJP candidate Purnima Sahu, along with election agent Amarjit Singh Raja, inspected the strong room and met party workers stationed there.

She expressed confidence in securing a major victory for Jamshedpur East and other constituencies in the metropolitan area.

The surveillance responsibilities are divided among BJP’s various organizational units, with each mandal taking designated shifts.

Birsanagar workers monitored the strong room during the day, while Baridih workers took over for the night.

Key BJP leaders, including Bablu Gop, Jeevan Lal, and several others, were actively involved in overseeing operations.

The party has laid out a detailed schedule assigning monitoring duties to mandals and wings such as Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and Mahila Morcha until November 22.

This rigorous monitoring process reflects BJP’s confidence in securing victories across all seats in the region.
