Food Safety Inspections Ramp Up for Diwali and Chhath

JAMSHEDPUR – District authorities intensify food safety checks ahead of Diwali and Chhath festivals to ensure quality products for consumers.

A strict inspection campaign is underway across the district.

The initiative targets food vendors and sweet shops.

District Magistrate Ananya Mittal has directed this safety measure.

Food Safety Officer Md. Manjar is leading the sample collection efforts.

Samples were obtained from well-known establishments in the city.

Bhola Maharaj Food Establishment provided cashew-pistachio rolls and milk froth samples.

Meanwhile, Nadiya Mishthan Bhandar’s white chenna was collected for testing.

Additionally, black jamun sweets from Hare Krishna Mishthan Bhandar were sampled.

These samples will undergo thorough testing at the State Food Testing Laboratory in Ranchi.

Vendors have been instructed to maintain high cleanliness standards.

The focus is on ensuring safe, quality products during the festive season.

Md. Manjar warned of strict legal action if adulteration is confirmed.

He cited the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 as the basis for potential penalties.

The campaign aims to protect public health throughout the festival period.

District administration is committed to preventing unsafe food items from reaching the market.

Food business operators have been reminded of the serious consequences of adulteration.
