JAMSHEDPUR – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched a significant operation in the steel city, targeting alleged financial irregularities.

The raid focuses on the home of Raghunandan Prasad Sharma, a retired engineer.

Eight ED officers are investigating documents at duplexes 214 and 215 in Vijaya Garden.

This action is part of a wider probe into the Jharkhand Drinking Water Department.

Meanwhile, the operation extends beyond Jamshedpur to Ranchi and Chaibasa.

Over 20 locations are being simultaneously searched across these cities.

The residence of Vinay Kumar Thakur, brother of Minister Mithlesh Thakur, is under scrutiny.

ED teams have also targeted rice trader Vedant Khirwal in Sadar Bazar.

Several properties have been sealed during the course of the investigation.

Locked houses were forcibly opened for thorough examination, sources hinted.

The ED has reportedly uncovered evidence of benami investments.

Allegations of corruption within the Drinking Water Department are being probed.

Minister Mithlesh Thakur, also known as Munnu Thakur, is linked to the investigation.

Local authorities are cooperating with the ED’s operation.
