JAMSHEDPUR – A shocking theft took place in Parmeshwar Colony, Mango, during Durga Puja’s Mahasaptami, as criminals stole jewelry worth over ₹10 lakh from the home of Dr. Gajendra Singh.
The thieves used a cutter to break the grill and enter the house while Dr. Singh was at his clinic on Mango-Dimna Road.
Upon his return at 9 PM, he found the main gate open, which was locked when he left.
Inside, both the ground-floor rooms had their doors wide open, with the almirah and electronic locker broken into.
Jewelry boxes lay empty, and other valuables were scattered.
Dr. Singh’s wife and daughter-in-law, who had been upstairs, were unharmed.
BJP leader Vikas Singh condemned the rise in crime, suggesting the thieves took advantage of the festival’s busy atmosphere to carry out the heist.
The police were called immediately, and investigations are underway.
