JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD) has received an award for innovations in sustainable technologies.

The Annual Sustainability Symposium and Excellence Awards 2024, held in New Delhi, presented the honor on October 8.

Moreover, Saroj Kumar Banerjee and Devraj Tiwary accepted the award on behalf of Tata Steel at the India International Centre.

The award celebrates Tata Steel’s smart water management system to track water use across its plants.

Furthermore, the company reuses ferrochrome slags in road construction, reducing the need for riverbed sand.

Pankaj Satija, Executive-In-Charge at FAMD, expressed satisfaction over the recognition at the event.

He emphasized that Tata Steel is committed to biodiversity and water conservation involving local communities.

Additionally, Tata Steel has launched several biodiversity programs around its Sukinda operations, benefiting local ecosystems.

Initiatives like Prajatiya Khadyotsav and a butterfly garden highlight the company’s conservation efforts.
