AJSU Faces Internal Strife as Jharkhand Elections Near

Party grapples with seat-sharing, nepotism allegations, and leadership challenges

Key Points:

• AJSU Party faces internal dissatisfaction over seat-sharing with BJP

• Allegations of nepotism and family dominance plague the party

• Sudesh Mahto’s leadership questioned amid personal electoral setbacks

JAMSHEDPUR – The All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) Party confronts growing internal tensions as Jharkhand Assembly elections approach.

AJSU Party braces for intensified internal dissatisfaction over seat-sharing with BJP.

The party faces criticism for being dominated by supremo Sudesh Mahto’s family members.

Moreover, many long-serving constituency in-charges may be sidelined in ticket distribution.

Historically, BJP allocates only 5-7 seats to AJSU in their alliance.

Furthermore, 2-3 of these seats often go to Sudesh Mahto’s family members.

This perceived favoritism has significantly damaged the party’s image.

"Loyal workers are frustrated after years of investment," noted a political analyst.

Sudesh Mahto, once a prominent Kurmi leader, has faced personal electoral setbacks.

He lost twice from his stronghold in Silli, raising questions about his leadership.

Additionally, Sudesh struggles to campaign effectively for other AJSU candidates.

The rise of Jairam Mahto poses a significant challenge to Sudesh’s leadership.

Jairam has been gaining ground among disgruntled AJSU leaders and workers.

This threatens to further erode AJSU’s already weakened base.

The party now faces the difficult task of maintaining unity among its cadre.

Many AJSU members are increasingly looking to Jairam as an alternative.

"AJSU’s dependence on BJP for survival limits its political maneuverability," observed an insider.

The upcoming elections will test AJSU’s ability to address internal grievances.

The party’s future hinges on its handling of seat-sharing and leadership issues.

Jharkhand’s political landscape may see significant shifts depending on AJSU’s decisions.
