JAMSHEDPUR – Indian Railways has released an open tender for the installation of a pneumatic pipeline at the Tatanagar washing line, designed for servicing Vande Bharat train sets.

The project, estimated at ₹22,01,160, is set to commence following the bid closing on October 22, 2024.

Bidders are required to submit their offers via e-tender before the deadline.

The initiative is expected to modernize maintenance facilities at the Tatanagar washing line, ensuring efficient operation for the new Vande Bharat trains.

The project involves supplying and installing galvanized iron (GI) pipes, valves, and other fittings.

A key feature includes the use of stainless-steel ball valves that can sustain high pressure, crucial for maintaining pneumatic functions.

Project Execution and Deadlines

The contract, classified as a “Works Contract,” will be carried out within a six-month period.

According to the tender document, the scope includes installing 1,270 meters of GI pipe and other necessary fittings.

The tender also specifies the integration of moisture separators and hydraulic hose systems, essential for high-performance train maintenance.

Rajeev Ranjan Rasik, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, is overseeing the tender process.
