New Leadership to be Elected by October 20 Through Secret Ballot

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Press Club has dissolved its current committee and announced plans for elections to form new leadership by October 20.

The decision was made at the Annual General Meeting held on October 2.

Senior member Braj Bhushan Singh will oversee the election process.

The assembly authorized Singh to lead the elections through secret voting.

Meanwhile, current President Prashant Singh Putul and General Secretary Anjani Pandey resigned.

Their resignations followed the official end of the committee’s tenure.

An election committee was formed to conduct the upcoming polls.

Braj Bhushan Singh was appointed as the Chairman of this committee.

The committee includes six other members from the press community.

Moreover, they will soon announce the election schedule, including nomination dates.

The financial report for 2023-’24 was unanimously adopted at the meeting.

Several attendees emphasized the importance of elections over nominations.

Senior members expressed satisfaction with the club’s work over the past three years.

They congratulated the outgoing committee for their achievements.

The meeting, held at Chamber Bhavan, saw a large turnout of journalists.

Attendees included representatives from both urban and rural areas.

The gathering was noted for its cordial atmosphere throughout the proceedings.
