JAMSHEDPUR – The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has initiated a campaign to reinvigorate local markets and counter the growing influence of online retail.

The ‘Chalo Chale Bazaar’ (Let’s Go to the Market) campaign kicked off with a poster launch at the Chamber building.

President Vijay Anand Moonka emphasized the initiative’s importance in supporting traditional businesses.

"Online shopping has severely impacted conventional trade," he stated.

Meanwhile, Anil Modi, Vice President of Trade and Commerce, highlighted the challenges faced by traditional businesses.

"We aim to reconnect youth and other groups with local markets," Modi explained.

The campaign’s first phase involves distributing posters across major markets and residential areas.

Future plans include setting up selfie stands in key marketplaces to engage shoppers.

"We encourage families to share photos at these stands on social media," a Chamber spokesperson revealed.

The Chamber introduced a slogan: "The joy of festivals comes alive in the market."

Manav Kedia, Secretary General, stressed the importance of local traders to the economy.

"Shopping locally not only boosts trade but also enhances the festival experience," Kedia noted.

Members urged both the public and Chamber associates to support the campaign by shopping in local markets.

The event saw attendance from numerous Chamber members and officials.
