Manipal Tata Medical College hosts national event for undergraduate research

JAMSHEDPUR – Manipal Tata Medical College recently hosted ERUDITE, a national conference for undergraduate medical students, advancing research excellence in the region.

The two-day event took place from September 21 to 22 at MTMC premises.

Moreover, it was organized as part of MAHE’s Year of Research Excellence celebration for 2024.

The Student Research Forum, under the UG Research Vertical, spearheaded the conference organization.

Additionally, students played a crucial role in executing the event.

The Dean, Director, and Head of Research at MTMC provided guidance throughout.

Dr. Sachidananda Mohanty, Executive Director of AIIMS Awantipora, served as the Chief Guest.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tanuj Kanchan from AIIMS Jodhpur attended as the Guest of Honour.

Dr. Partha Dabke, a Medical Science Liaison, delivered the keynote speech.

In his address, Dr. Mohanty emphasized the importance of medical research in healthcare advancement.

Furthermore, Dr. Tanuj highlighted the value of research publications for career development.

Dr. Dabke discussed various avenues in medical research and stressed collaborative efforts.

The conference also featured a guest lecture by Dr. Daivik T. Shetty on effective learning strategies.

Interestingly, the event included a special segment for local educational engagement.

Students from five Jamshedpur high schools attended, accompanied by 12 teachers.

Approximately 360 delegates participated in ERUDITE, including 80 nursing students from seven states.

The conference offered six workshops led by faculty from Tata Main Hospital and MTMC.

These workshops covered topics like Trauma Management, BLS, ACLS, and ECG Interpretation.

Events included Scientific Paper Presentations, Clinical Case Presentations, and an Ideathon.

Notable winners included Dhote Kashmira Kusumkant from MTMC and Winnie Koshy Binoj from AIIMS Deogarh.
