ADITYAPUR – A two-day football tournament in Adityapur-2, Saraikela district, concluded on Sunday with former Adityapur Municipal Council Vice President Purendra Narayan Singh boosting players’ morale.
The event, organized by Adivasi Kalyan Samiti, Kulupatanga, saw 32 teams compete.
Singh interacted with players, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and team spirit.
He highlighted football’s role in promoting social cohesion.
Moreover, Singh rewarded players scoring goals and during penalty shootouts with cash prizes.
The former Vice President announced plans to upgrade Azad Sporting Ground.
He promised to develop it into a stadium with proper grass turf.
This upgrade aims to facilitate state-level competitions in the future.
Meanwhile, the tournament attracted large crowds throughout the day.
The winning team received ₹60,000 and a trophy.
Runners-up were awarded ₹40,000 and a trophy.
Additionally, third and fourth-placed teams got ₹20,000 each along with trophies.
