JAMSHEDPUR – The steel city sees a spike in dengue cases, with 13 new patients identified on Saturday across various hospitals.
The newly diagnosed patients hail from different areas including Mango, Golmuri, Sarjamda, Bagbera, Telco, and Potka.
Currently, 28 patients are hospitalized for dengue treatment.
Among these, two are receiving care in the ICU.
Dr. Sahir Pal, the Civil Surgeon, provided an update on the situation.
He revealed that out of 3,078 people tested, 269 have been confirmed as dengue patients.
Meanwhile, the city has launched an extensive anti-dengue campaign.
Health teams are visiting affected areas to raise awareness and spray anti-larval solutions.
Dr. Pal emphasized the importance of early detection and treatment.
He assured that timely intervention leads to a 100% recovery rate for dengue patients.
However, the rising number of cases has put local health authorities on high alert.
They are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any dengue-like symptoms promptly.
