YUVA Organizes Gender Mela to Promote Equality

Women participate in street plays, fashion show, and exhibitions

JAMSHEDPUR – A district-level Gender Mela was organized to create opportunities for promoting gender equality and women’s leadership.

The Youth Unity for Voluntary Action (YUVA) organized the event in collaboration with Crea, New Delhi.

Babita Sinha, the chief guest, inaugurated the mela by releasing balloons and kites. "We create such opportunities to promote gender equality inclusively," she stated.

Rajendra Kumar, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, praised YUVA’s initiatives. He emphasized the need for such awareness programs to bring positive societal changes.

The mela featured various activities to engage participants. These included street plays, fashion shows, and poster-making sessions.

Movie screenings and quiz competitions were also part of the event. These activities aimed to educate and entertain attendees simultaneously.

Young Girl Leaders Gudia and Sarita managed the entire program efficiently. Their involvement showcased the event’s focus on empowering young women.

"I realized how government facilities are often inconvenient for women and disabled individuals," shared Devi Kumari, Mukhiya of Haldipokhur Panchayat.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Young Girl Shruti Sardar. YUVA’s secretary and other members contributed to the mela’s success.
