New leadership team chosen for 2024-2026 term in closely watched election

Jamshedpur District Bar Association elects new officials, with Rathindra Nath Das securing the presidency.

JAMSHEDPUR – Rathindra Nath Das has been elected as the new President of the Jamshedpur District Bar Association for the 2024-2026 term.

Das secured 567 votes, defeating his closest rival Malkit Singh, who received 347 votes.

Balai Panda was re-elected as Vice President with 511 votes, overcoming Ravi Shankar Tripathi’s 278 votes.

Kumar Rajesh Ranjan emerged victorious as the new General Secretary, winning by a significant margin.

In the Joint Secretary category, Vinita Singh led with 385 votes, followed by Sanjeev Kumar Baria with 346 votes.

Former Joint Secretary Rajhans Tiwari has requested a recount, raising an objection to the vote tally.

Jai Prakash Bhakat, known as JP, secured the Treasurer position with 400 votes, defeating former Treasurer Divendu Mandal.

Pushpa Kumari won the Assistant Treasurer’s position with 457 votes, surpassing Jagdeep Singh Saini’s 310 votes.

Nine executive members were elected, led by Abhay Kumar Singh with 530 votes.

The election was monitored by Jharkhand State Bar Council’s Vice President Advocate Rajesh Kumar Shukla and observers.

A strong police presence ensured security throughout the election process.
