Jharkhand CM Promises ₹1 Lakh Annual Aid to Families if Re-elected

Soren transfers funds to women under JMMSY scheme, slams BJP for ‘divisive politics’

Hemant Soren pledges ₹1 lakh annual financial assistance to families if his government is re-elected in Jharkhand.

RANCHI – CM Hemant Soren announced ₹1 lakh annual aid for families if re-elected, while criticizing BJP at a Hazaribagh event.

At a public function in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren made a significant announcement ahead of the upcoming assembly polls.

The event marked the transfer of funds to women under the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana (JMMSY).

Soren promised financial assistance of up to ₹1 lakh annually for every family if his government is re-elected.

He stated that the amount would be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ accounts through the DBT scheme.

During the event, Soren transferred ₹1,000 each to over 13.81 lakh women from six districts in the North Chotanagpur Division.

The CM highlighted his government’s efforts to make economically weaker families financially self-reliant.

Under JMMSY, 45 lakh women aged 21-40 receive ₹12,000 annually, while over 35 lakh elderly individuals above 50 are linked to pension schemes.

Soren accused the BJP of spreading divisive politics, stating, "BJP imports leaders from other states as its local leaders struggle to handle Jharkhand. These outsiders are sowing discord in society along religious and caste lines."

He also alleged a conspiracy to undermine reservations for ST, SC, and OBC communities.

The CM criticized the opposition’s focus on "businessmen’s security" rather than social security in the state.

Soren claimed his government would elevate Jharkhand’s development to match Delhi and Mumbai in his next tenure.

A local resident, Ramesh Kumar, expressed hope, saying, "If implemented, this financial aid could significantly improve the lives of many families in our state."
