DC Ananya Mittal flags off awareness campaign for farmer insurance scheme
Jamshedpur launches crop insurance scheme to empower farmers economically, applications due by August 31.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Birsa Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna was officially launched in Jamshedpur by Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, who flagged off an awareness campaign vehicle.
The awareness campaign vehicle will conduct visits to the block and panchayat areas of both subdivisions.
Its objective is to provide producers with information regarding the objectives and advantages of the program.
The launch event was witnessed by ITDA Project Director Dipankar Chowdhury and District Cooperative Officer Asha Toppo.
The objective of the initiative is to economically empower farmers for the Kharif 2024 season.
Farmers have until August 31 to submit their applications and take advantage of the benefits.
The compensation rate for Aghanai paddy has been established at Rs 87,087 per hectare.
The compensation for Bhadai maize is set at Rs 72,023 per hectare.
By paying a nominal fee of one rupee, farmers can access the scheme’s benefits.
In this scheme, there is no need to pay an additional premium for insurance.
In order to register, farmers must submit a photocopy of their bank passbook and Aadhaar card.
Additional documents that may be necessary include land ownership forms and a notarized sharecropping certificate, if applicable.
Additionally, farmers are required to submit a self-attested crop cultivation certificate and a mobile phone number.
In order to obtain additional information, producers may contact the District Cooperative Office or their nearest block office.
