Banna Gupta’s criticism of Champai Soren’s actions sparks debate on loyalty and political ethics in Jharkhand.
JAMSHEDPUR – Health Minister Banna Gupta criticizes former CM Champai Soren for changing sides, calling it a betrayal of Jharkhand.
In a scathing rebuke, Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta has publicly denounced former Chief Minister Champai Soren for his recent political maneuvers.
Gupta, a Congress leader, asserted that Champai Soren’s actions would be remembered as a betrayal in Jharkhand’s history.
"Whenever Jharkhand’s history is written, Champai Soren’s name will be recorded as Vibhishana," Gupta stated, drawing a parallel to the mythological character known for switching sides.
He accused Champai Soren of attempting to dismantle the government after receiving everything from the party and the state.
Gupta highlighted the party’s contributions to Champai Soren’s political career, including his rise from Jamshedpur to prominent positions within the party.
The Health Minister questioned Champai Soren’s recent decisions, particularly during Hemant Soren’s incarceration and subsequent release.
He criticized Champai Soren’s apparent eagerness to retain power and his interactions with BJP leaders during the coalition’s challenging period.
Gupta argued that Champai Soren should have resigned on moral grounds when Hemant Soren was released from jail.
Despite the harsh criticism, reports suggest that Champai Soren still enjoys significant support at the grassroots level.
Many ground workers believe Champai Soren was unfairly treated following Hemant Soren’s release from jail.
A political activist raised an intriguing question: "By calling Champai Soren a ‘Vibhishan’, is Banna Gupta openly admitting he’s on the side of ‘Ravana’?"
