QR codes installed in public transport and ATMs for quick emergency response and fraud prevention.
Ranchi police have introduced a QR code system to enhance women’s safety and prevent ATM fraud.
RANCHI – Ranchi police have launched a new QR code system under the Dial-112 initiative to improve women’s safety and curb crimes at ATMs.
The system, unveiled at the DIG Range Office, includes QR codes installed on e-rickshaws, auto-rickshaws, and city buses throughout Ranchi.
These codes allow women and passengers to quickly report harassment or emergencies by scanning the code, prompting immediate police action.
Additionally, QR codes placed at ATMs enable citizens to swiftly report fraud or cybercrimes directly to the authorities.
This initiative aims to make Dial-112 more effective and accessible, ensuring prompt assistance for any complaints.
The QR codes will be widely distributed across all public transportation, women’s colleges, coaching centers, schools, markets, and other public places.
Ranchi police’s efforts are focused on leveraging technology to create a safer environment for everyone, particularly women.
