New Organization Aims to Unite Savarnas and Address Their Concerns
Savarna Sena established to advocate for Savarna rights and push for economic-based reservations.
JAMSHEDPUR – A meeting of Savarna youth in Baridih led to the formation of ‘Savarna Sena’, a new organization aimed at uniting Savarnas and addressing their concerns.
On Monday evening, representatives from Brahmin, Rajput, Bhumihar, and Kayastha communities convened to discuss issues affecting the general category.
The gathering unanimously decided to form the Savarna Sena, electing Abhishek Pandey as its president.
Other key positions were filled by Harsh Singh as general secretary, Saurabh Pathak as organizational secretary, and Rishabh Srivastava as treasurer.
Addressing the meeting, Abhishek Pandey expressed concerns about the impact of caste-based reservations on social harmony.
He argued for economic criteria in determining reservations, stating, "If poverty doesn’t discriminate based on caste, why should reservations?"
Pandey criticized political parties for exploiting Savarnas without addressing their concerns.
He noted the absence of Savarna-specific wings in political parties, unlike those for backward classes, scheduled castes, and minorities.
The newly formed organization plans to unite all Savarnas under one banner to advocate for their rights and interests.
Members present at the meeting included Prabhat Singh, Sujal Singh, Prem Kumar Jha, and Shivam Dubey, among others.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Harsh Singh.
