Tree planting, blood donation, and musical tributes mark 83rd death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore
Jamshedpur’s Tagore Society organized multiple events to commemorate the 83rd death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Tagore Society in Jamshedpur held various programs to honor Rabindranath Tagore on his 83rd death anniversary, including tree planting and cultural performances.
A tree plantation event took place at the Rabindra Bhavan campus, featuring a welcome song by Tagore Academy students.
Dr. H.S. Paul, President of Tagore Society, emphasized Tagore’s connection to nature in his works.
"Even today, on his Mahaprayan Diwas, we remember him through his timeless creations, which are relevant in every season and time," Dr. Paul remarked.
SDO Parul Singh, the chief guest, praised the tree planting initiative as inspiring and unveiled a wall magazine.
A blood donation camp was organized by Tagore Academy, collecting 49 units between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
Teachers, staff, and parents participated in the blood donation drive.
In the evening, Tagore School of Arts students and teachers paid homage through a Rabindra Sangeet performance.
Ashis Chowdhury, General Secretary of Tagore Society, stated that the program aimed to honor Kobi Guru and draw inspiration from his evergreen works.
The Society’s multifaceted approach to commemorating Tagore’s legacy included environmental, humanitarian, and cultural elements.
