Tata Steel Hosts Successful JOGGA Inter-School Athletics Meet

Two-Day Event Showcases Young Talent at JRD Tata Sports Complex

Nearly 1,000 students from 28 schools compete in various track and field events, demonstrating exceptional athletic skills.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Sports Department concluded the JOGGA Inter-School Athletics Championship, a two-day event held on July 18-19 at the prestigious JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Col. (Retd.) Earnest Paul, Deputy General Manager of Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL), presided over the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.

"This championship embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence that Tata Steel has always encouraged," remarked Col. Paul during his address.

The event saw participation from 28 schools, with over 970 students competing across four categories: Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Junior Boys, and Junior Girls.

Various track and field events were conducted, allowing young athletes to showcase their skills in sprints, long-distance runs, jumps, and throws.

"The enthusiasm and talent displayed by these young athletes are truly inspiring," noted a Tata Steel Sports Department official.

The championship provided a platform for budding athletes to gain competitive experience and exposure to professional-level facilities.

Students demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship throughout the event, supporting their peers and celebrating achievements across school lines.

The successful organization of the event highlights Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting sports and physical fitness among the youth.

This inter-school championship serves as a stepping stone for many young athletes, potentially paving the way for future sports stars from the region.
