Rotary Club Jamshedpur East Celebrates 47th Installation Ceremony

New leadership team set to advance community projects and diversity initiatives.

The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East (RCJE) marked its 47th installation ceremony at Beldih Club, with T.V. Srinivas Shenoy from Tata Steel as the chief guest.

JAMSHEDPUR – The 47th installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East (RCJE) was recently held at Beldih Club. The event was graced by the presence of T.V. Srinivas Shenoy, an executive from Tata Steel, who served as the chief guest.

People who attended the event included current and former officials from Rotary districts and leaders from different Rotary clubs in Jamshedpur.

The outgoing president, Prema Gogna, handed over the leadership to the incoming president, Subhrajit Basu.

The ceremony started with the customary lighting of the lamp, followed by a reflection on the accomplishments of the previous year.

The outgoing president, Gogna, took the time to acknowledge the valuable contributions of several club members. He awarded Dr. Anup Gupta and Nidhi Basu with the prestigious title of Rotarians of the Year, recognizing their unwavering dedication.

During his speech, the newly elected President Basu talked about the club’s goals for the upcoming year. He highlighted the key projects and stressed the significance of diversity and inclusion.

The speaker mentioned that these goals are in line with the Rotary theme for 2024-25, which is "The Magic of Rotary." He encouraged members to work together and collaborate in order to accomplish these objectives.

Past District Governor Pratim Banerjee welcomed five new members into the club, and the club’s bulletin, "Golmuri Wheel," was revealed.

The newly announced leadership team consists of President Subhrajit Basu, Immediate Past President Prema Gogna, President Elect Punit Kauntia, Vice President Veena Mitra, Secretary Vikas Singh, Joint Secretary Nidhi Basu, Treasurer Sushma Pandey, Chief Bulletin Editor Dr. Anup Gupta, Sergeant-at-Arms Indira Dhar, Director of Club Services Madan Bihari, Director of Service Projects Jayanti Dutt, Director of Public Image Kunal Kar, Director of Rotary Foundation Vandana Jain, Director of Membership Development OP Chopra, Director of Youth Services Anita Paul, Director of Fundraising Balwinder Singh, and Club Learning Facilitator Dr. Tamal Deb.

The team is excited to come together and work in harmony towards achieving the goals set for the upcoming year. They are inspired by the theme "The Magic of Rotary."
