Party leaders strategize after Lok Sabha setback, claim lead in 52 assembly seats
Bharatiya Janata Party intensifies preparations for upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections, with senior leaders visiting the state to boost campaign efforts.
RANCHI – The BJP has initiated its campaign for the forthcoming Jharkhand assembly elections, following a recent Lok Sabha performance that saw the party lose three seats.
Chouhan Singh Shivraj and Sarma Biswa Himanta, BJP’s election in-charge and co-in-charge for Jharkhand, are currently in the state to strengthen the party’s position.
"Despite seat reduction, we led in 52 assembly constituencies," Sarma stated at a press conference in Ranchi, questioning the accountability of Jharkhand’s current leadership.
Marandi Babulal, Jharkhand BJP president, and Bauri Amar, Leader of Opposition, joined the senior leaders at the party headquarters.
Chouhan criticized the incumbent government, labeling it as "most corrupt" and highlighting unfulfilled promises and widespread unemployment.
"We’re committed to eradicating corruption and ensuring good governance under Marandi’s leadership," Chouhan emphasized.
The BJP leaders conducted meetings with party MLAs and recent Lok Sabha candidates to strategize for the upcoming polls.
Sarma underscored the party’s competitive edge, claiming leads even in constituencies held by the current Chief Minister.
Responding to questions about performance in tribal reserved seats, Chouhan emphasized the overall electoral gains within democratic dynamics.
In a separate event, Sarma participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign at NASHA campus in Namkum, planting saplings alongside local leaders.
