Police Intensify Hunt for Fugitive Ganesh Singh in Jamshedpur

Warrant pasted on accused’s house in Ranjit Sardar murder case

Authorities warn of property attachment if Singh fails to surrender within a month.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur police have stepped up efforts to apprehend Ganesh Singh, a wanted accused in several cases, including the Ranjit Sardar murder.

On Sunday, Telco police pasted a warrant on Singh’s residence at Mango Dimna Road, accompanied by drums and trumpets under Section 82 of Cr. P.C..

The Quick Response Team (QRT) was deployed at the scene to maintain order during the warrant-pasting process.

This action follows a court-issued warrant against Singh, who has evaded arrest so far.

First Class Judicial Magistrate Abhishek Kumar’s court had issued the warrant after previous attempts to arrest Singh failed.

If Singh does not surrender within a month, police will initiate property attachment proceedings.

Earlier, police had conducted a raid on Singh’s house on Thursday night but found him absent.

The Ranjit Sardar murder case has been a high-profile investigation for the Jamshedpur police.

This public display of the warrant aims to pressure Singh and his potential supporters.

The use of drums and trumpets during the warrant-pasting indicates the police’s intent to publicize the action.

Local residents gathered to witness the police action, highlighting the case’s significance in the community.

This development marks an escalation in the police’s efforts to bring Singh to justice.

Section 82 of Cr. P.C.

Section 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C) deals with a specific legal provision.

The provision allows the court to issue a proclamation when there is reason to believe that a person has hidden or fled to avoid being arrested on warrants.

The court has the ability to form its opinion on its own initiative based on the information provided in the record or when evidence is presented by the prosecution.

The court issues a written proclamation, instructing the accused to appear at a specific place and providing a specific time. The given time should be at least 30 days after the proclamation is published.
