Kalpana Soren, the India Alliance candidate, has secured a remarkable victory in the Gandey assembly by-election, defeating BJP candidate Dilip Verma by a substantial margin of 26,484 votes.

GANDEY – In a closely contested by-election, Kalpana Soren has emerged as the winner, showcasing her popularity and tireless campaigning efforts throughout the Lok Sabha elections.

Since the announcement of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Kalpana Soren had been actively engaged in campaigning, consistently interacting with the public and garnering support.

The battle for the Gandey assembly seat was primarily between Kalpana Soren and BJP candidate Dilip Verma.

Initially, Dilip Verma maintained a lead in the first and second rounds of vote counting.

However, Kalpana Soren soon gained momentum and surpassed her opponent, ultimately securing a convincing victory.

As the news of her triumph spread, congratulatory messages poured in for Kalpana Soren.

Minister Mithilesh Thakur took to social media to extend his congratulations, stating, "Mrs. Kalpana Soren has registered a big victory in the Gandey assembly by-election."

Kalpana Soren’s success in the by-election is being attributed to her relentless efforts as a star campaigner during the entire Lok Sabha elections.
