Jamshedpur Admn Launches Voter Awareness Campaign at Netaji Subhash University

Deputy Development Commissioner Emphasizes Importance of Voting to College Students

In a bid to raise voter awareness, District Election Officer Ananya Mittal spearheaded a campaign at Netaji Subhash University, educating college students about the significance of voting.

JAMSHEDPUR – Under the directives of District Election Officer Ananya Mittal, a voter awareness campaign was held at Netaji Subhash University, where students were informed about the importance and procedures of voting.

Deputy Development Commissioner and Senior Officer of Sweep Cell, Manish Kumar, addressed the students, highlighting the critical role of voting in the democratic process.

Kumar emphasized that voting allows citizens to participate in governance and influence the direction of their country.

He noted that a significant portion of non-voters comprises students and elderly individuals.

To combat voter apathy, particularly among the youth, targeted awareness programs are being implemented.

This election cycle also includes home voting options to ensure 100% participation from elderly and disabled voters.

Kumar urged students to recognize voting as a fundamental right of every adult citizen, emphasizing its impact on national progress and development.

He pointed out that the youth play a pivotal role in elections, with many new names being added to the voter list annually.

On this occasion, Kumar inspired the youth to visit the polling booths and vote, encouraging them to bring along 25 others, including their families, on May 25.

The event concluded with the students taking a voter oath, reaffirming their commitment to participate in the elections.

Kumar also appealed to the youth to volunteer at polling booths to assist elderly, disabled, and female voters on election day.

The campaign aimed to foster a sense of civic duty among students and ensure higher voter turnout.

Such initiatives are crucial for enhancing democratic participation and ensuring every citizen’s voice is heard.
