Jharkhand Schools to Resume Regular Schedule for Classes Above KG from May 13

Jharkhand Education Department Orders Resumption of Normal School Schedule for Upper Classes

The Jharkhand School Education and Literacy Department has directed all schools in the state, including private institutions, to resume their regular schedule for classes above kindergarten starting from May 13, 2023, in response to the recent change in weather conditions and a decrease in daytime temperatures due to rainfall.

JAMSHEDPUR – In light of the recent change in weather patterns and a drop in daytime temperatures brought about by rain, the Jharkhand School Education and Literacy Department has ordered all schools in the state, including private schools, to resume their regular schedule for classes above kindergarten effective May 13, 2023.

The department issued the directive on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Previously, due to the extreme heat conditions, classes from kindergarten to eighth grade were temporarily suspended.

Meanwhile, instructions were given to conduct classes for grades nine and above from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM during the suspension period.

The decision to resume the regular schedule comes as a relief to students and parents alike, who have been grappling with the disruptions caused by the heatwave.

The education department’s timely intervention ensures that students can continue their education without further interruptions while prioritizing their health and well-being.

Schools are expected to adhere to the revised schedule and make necessary arrangements to facilitate a smooth transition back to the regular timetable.

The department’s order applies uniformly to all schools in the state, irrespective of their affiliation or management.
