Jharkhand CM Boosts Welfare with Rs 43.85 Crore Disbursement

Soren Announces Major Benefits Ahead of Elections

In a significant pre-election move, Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren disbursed Rs 43.85 crore to over 2 lakh beneficiaries under various welfare schemes, focusing on old-age pensions, marriages, and empowering young girls, showcasing the government’s commitment to uplifting the state’s underprivileged communities and critiquing past administrations for their lack of progress.

RANCHI – The Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium witnessed several major announcements on Wednesday by the Chief Minister Champai Soren.

He pledged his continued support to the economic upliftment of rural residents.

Soren criticized previous governments for neglecting tribal, Dalit, and poor populations.

He specifically targeted the BJP’s tenure for the state’s developmental lag.

The Chief Minister highlighted the universal pension scheme’s expansion.

This includes lowering the eligibility age for women and ST/SC community members.

A special drive resulted in over 5.68 lakh pension applications, with 2,22,523 shortlisted.

"February and March saw 1,58,218 beneficiaries receive pensions," stated an official.

Additionally, the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana’ supported around 3,000 individuals with Rs 8 crore.

The ‘Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana’ also benefited 4,500 girls.

Efforts to honor widows saw seven individuals receive Rs 14 lakh for remarriage.

Under the family benefit scheme, 736 below-poverty-line beneficiaries received Rs 1.47 crore.

"With these measures, we’re enhancing the dignity and welfare of our people," Champai Soren remarked emphatically.

This expansive welfare initiative marks a significant step towards social and economic empowerment.
