Jamshedpur Aids TB Patients with Nutritional Support

Red Cross Society and local officials distribute nutrition to TB patients in a continuous fight against the disease.

In an impactful move towards combating tuberculosis, Jamshedpur’s Red Cross Society, in collaboration with district officials, has extended nutritional support to TB patients, reflecting a committed effort towards public health and disease eradication.

JAMSHEDPUR – Representatives from various organizations, including STP Ltd., Marwari Mahila Manch, and Lions Club, marked their presence at the event, signifying a collective endeavor to bolster the fight against TB.

The Red Cross Society, along with these representatives, emphasized the importance of community involvement in awareness and prevention efforts, advocating for proactive health measures against TB.

Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Manish Kumar stressed the importance of community cooperation in achieving a TB-free district, highlighting the role of informed citizens in supporting administrative efforts.

The distribution event underscored the government’s commitment to providing Rs 500 monthly under the Nikshay Nutrition Scheme to TB patients, aiming to supplement their nutritional needs as part of the broader health initiative.

Mr. Ananya Mittal, in his address, outlined the district’s goal to eliminate TB by December 2024, ahead of the national target of 2025, showcasing the local administration’s aggressive stance against the disease.

He further encouraged the public to remain vigilant about TB symptoms, advocating for timely testing and treatment to curb the spread of the disease.

The nutritional support initiative, now in its 19th month, was held at the Red Cross Bhawan, where 100 TB patients received aid, marking a continued commitment to health and well-being in the community.

The program, aligned with the Prime Minister’s Free India from TB initiative, seeks to eradicate the disease through enhanced nutrition and health support.

Mr. Ananya Mittal and Mr. Manish Kumar led the distribution of nutritional materials to TB patients, a gesture that symbolizes the ongoing efforts to support affected individuals in their recovery.

This initiative highlights the combined efforts of the Red Cross Society and local administration in Jamshedpur to provide essential nutritional support to TB patients, reinforcing their dedication to public health and disease eradication.
