Basti Vikas Samiti Launches Massive Tree Plantation Drive in Jamshedpur

Committee Chair Khemlal Chaudhary Highlights Need for Environmental Conservation

Basti Vikas Samiti’s city-wide tree plantation campaign in Jamshedpur aims to promote environmental conservation and community participation.

JAMSHEDPUR – Basti Vikas Samiti, Jamshedpur, has initiated an extensive tree plantation drive across various parts of the city to promote environmental conservation.

This initiative, which started on World Environment Day, continued with a significant plantation event at Pandey Maidan in Baridih on Friday.

During the event, committee members planted dozens of shady and fruit-bearing trees known for their medicinal properties.

Local members were assigned the responsibility of caring for and protecting these newly planted trees.

Committee Chairman Khemlal Chaudhary addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the environment in Jamshedpur, known as the Iron City, has become highly polluted.

He stressed the importance of making tree plantation a mass movement, requiring the participation of everyone at the social level to be effective.

"Society must focus on turning tree plantation into a widespread movement. Social participation is crucial for this cause," said Chaudhary.

The Basti Vikas Samiti has been actively spreading the message of environmental conservation by planting trees in various areas of the city since World Environment Day.

Chaudhary also announced that a tree plantation campaign would be held at the Manokamna Mandir premises in Sakchi at 7 am on Saturday.

In addition, an online painting competition on the theme ‘Environmental Challenge and Solution’ will conclude on Sunday.

Participants can submit their paintings via WhatsApp at 9431373471 and 7004650614.

The three best paintings from two age groups will be awarded.
