Battery-Operated Vehicles to Connect Buildings Across TMH Campus at Rs. 10 per Ride

In a bid to enhance the facilities for patients and their family members, Tata Main Hospital (TMH), run by Tata Steel, has introduced a new e-shuttle service. This service aims to provide convenient transportation between buildings and various locations within the hospital campus, ensuring a seamless experience for those seeking medical care.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Main Hospital (TMH), operated by Tata Steel, has taken a significant step towards improving patient and family member facilities by introducing a new e-shuttle service.

This innovative initiative allows people to travel between buildings and different locations within the TMH campus using battery-operated vehicles, offering a convenient and eco-friendly mode of transportation.

The e-shuttle service will provide drop-off points at key locations within the hospital, including the entry gate of the old building, labor room, burn care unit, JGMH (new building), SCU, and OPD main gate.

Patients and their family members can avail of this service at a nominal fee of Rs. 10 per ride, ensuring affordability and accessibility for all.

Previously, people had to park their vehicles outside the hospital premises and walk considerable distances to reach various departments and services within TMH.

This often posed challenges, especially for patients who had to navigate the campus on foot, leading to inconvenience and discomfort.

Recognizing this issue, TMH has introduced the e-shuttle service to alleviate the difficulties faced by patients and their families.

The e-shuttle service will operate from 10 am to 7:30 pm, with a lunch break from 2 pm to 3 pm.

This extended schedule ensures that the service is available throughout the day, catering to the needs of patients and visitors.

To avail of the e-shuttle service, users can simply pay the Rs. 10 fee directly in the vehicle, eliminating the need for separate billing or ticketing.

This streamlined payment system adds to the convenience and ease of using the service.

The introduction of the e-shuttle service at Tata Main Hospital demonstrates the institution’s commitment to providing patient-centric facilities and improving the overall healthcare experience.

By offering a convenient and affordable mode of transportation within the campus, TMH aims to reduce the physical strain on patients and ensure a more comfortable journey for them and their family members.

As the e-shuttle service commences operations, it is expected to significantly enhance accessibility and mobility within the TMH campus, setting a new standard for patient care and convenience in the region.
