Karatekas from Tata Steel Secure Major Wins in Telangana Event

The Tata Steel Karate Training Centre’s athletes clinch seven medals, including five golds, at the Indo-Nepal Karate Championship 2024.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Steel Karate Training Centre’s team returned triumphant from the Indo-Nepal Karate Championship 2024, held at Ambedkar Indoor Stadium, Karim Nagar, Telangana, showcasing their prowess with a significant medal haul.

Kyoshi L. Nageshwar Rao, Chief Coach at the Tata Steel Karate Training Centre, praised the athletes for their exceptional performance, underscoring their dedication and skill.

The championship’s technical success was ensured by a team of experts, including Shihan Sandeep Kumar and Sensei Niraj Kumar, emphasizing the event’s high standards.

Shihan B. R. Mitra, a key figure in Asian Goju Ryu Karate, supported the championship, highlighting the event’s international collaboration.

The event, featuring around 1000 competitors, was notable for its wide participation, including talents from Nepal, and was supported by distinguished guests and sports officials.

Prasidhi Gupta and Soni Champia stood out with their achievements in both kumite and kata events, contributing to the team’s medal tally with gold and additional honors.

Yashasvi Yadav and Karnisha Das captured gold in their respective categories, driving the Tata Steel Karate Training Centre to win the overall trophy.

The Tata Steel Karate Training Centre distinguished itself at the championship, securing a total of seven medals, including five golds, in a testament to the cadets’ hard work and excellence.

The Indo-Nepal Karate Championship 2024 concluded with the Tata Steel Karate Training Centre athletes achieving top honors, marking a significant accomplishment for the team and their training center.
