Bihar Political Shift: Nitish Kumar to Form New Govt with BJP

Nitish Kumar Resigns to Form Bihar Government with BJP, Ends Grand Alliance

In a significant political development in Bihar, Nitish Kumar resigns from the Grand Alliance and stakes claim of majority support to form a new government with BJP, ending the coalition with RJD, Congress, and Left parties.

DESK – In a strategic move, Nitish Kumar has chosen to align with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar, breaking away from the Grand Alliance.

The recent shift in Bihar’s political landscape sees the dissolution of the coalition government involving RJD, Congress, Left parties, and JDU.

This change has been marked by Nitish Kumar’s resignation as Chief Minister, which he submitted to Governor Rajendra Arlekar at Raj Bhavan on Sunday.

In a decisive move, Kumar has not only resigned but also recommended the dissolution of the current government.

His resignation was followed by a meeting at 01 Anne Marg, where he was elected leader of the NDA legislature party.

BJP’s decision to appoint Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha as deputy CMs reflects a strategic focus on Kurmi votes in Bihar.

In the wake of Kumar’s resignation, RJD’s Mrityunjay Tiwari expressed skepticism about the future, implying potential challenges for Nitish Kumar.

Nitish Kumar has forwarded BJP’s letter of support to the Governor, signifying a new phase of governance in Bihar.

The decision to form an NDA government in Bihar with BJP and other allies was unanimously agreed upon by MLAs in a recent party meeting.

Samrat Chaudhary’s election as the leader of the legislature party and Vijay Sinha as the deputy leader indicates a reshaping of Bihar’s political framework.
