Tribal Conference Being Planned to Honor Tilka Manjhi’s Martyrdom
BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha’s upcoming National Tribal Conference in Ranchi on February 11th, to honor martyr Tilka Manjhi, signals a significant political shift in Jharkhand. The conference will draw tribal representatives from over a dozen states, marking a pivotal moment in regional politics.
RANCHI – The BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha is set to host a grand National Tribal Conference in Ranchi on February 11th.
This date, commemorating the martyrdom of Tilka Manjhi, is chosen to honor his legacy.
Tilka Manjhi, a revered figure in the Santhal Pargana region, led the first armed rebellion against the British in 1784.
His brutal end, being dragged to the Collector’s residence and hung, symbolizes the beginning of the Santhal Hool.
This event, central to Jharkhand’s history, is now the focal point of the BJP’s outreach to the Santhal and Paharia communities ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Radhamohan Das Aggarwal, National General Secretary and Incharge of the Morcha, emphasized the deep connection between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the tribal communities.
He highlighted their unwavering support for Modi, evident in recent state election results.
Aggarwal noted Modi’s significant contributions to the tribal community, including the appointment of a tribal daughter as President and recognizing Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.
Additionally, the inclusion of eight tribal ministers in Modi’s cabinet and initiatives like PM JANMAN showcase the BJP’s commitment to tribal development.
Representatives from Jharkhand, Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya will attend the conference.
Notable attendees included BJP State President Babulal Marandi, National President Sameer Oraon, and Organization General Secretary Karmaveer Singh.
