Cabinet Approves Multiple Developmental Projects Across Jharkhand
Jharkhand’s Path to Development: Key Projects Approved by Cabinet
RANCHI -In a significant move, the Jharkhand cabinet, in its meeting on December 15, 2023, has approved the formation of Jamshedpur Industrial City.
Further enhancing healthcare in Bokaro district, a new medical college and hospital with 500 beds has been sanctioned, with an investment of Rs 6.88 billion.
The meeting also saw the approval of a partial amendment in the Jharkhand Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy-2021 (JIIPP-21).
Significant amendments were made to the Jharkhand Reservation Act, 2001, with the passing of Bill-2023.
For sports and community engagement, the cabinet granted ex-post approval of Rs 41.98 lakh for organizing friendly cricket matches involving the Chief Minister XI and Assembly Speaker XI, as well as the Chief Minister XI and Journalist XI.
Focusing on environmental sustainability, the cabinet approved a whopping Rs 123.58 crore for the Solid Waste Management Scheme under Gumla Municipal Council, to be implemented on a Public Private Partnership basis.
Similarly, Rs 102.62 crore and Rs 172.76 crore were allocated for solid waste management in Shri Banshidhar Nagar Nagar Panchayat and Dumka Municipal Council, respectively.
Infrastructure development saw a significant push with the approval of Rs 44.80 crore for the construction of ROB at Km 416.770 between Namkum Ranchi Station at Katari Bagan.
The reconstruction of Phuldungari to Jhantijharna Bhaya Burudih road, spanning 24.01 km, received funding approval of Rs 152.01 crore from the Government of India under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund, with a state share of Rs 36.93 crore.
In Seraikela-Kharsawan, Rs 101.06 crore was approved for the expansion and strengthening of the Kanderbera to Domuhani road.
The widening and strengthening of NH-114A from Jarmundi-Beldaha-Nimanath to NH-133, stretching over 47.92 km, was greenlit with an investment of Rs 255.13 crore, inclusive of a state share for land acquisition and other costs.
In the field of IT and education, the cabinet gave ex post facto approval for the state’s IT, Data Center, and BPO Investment Promotion Policy-2023, and revised the pay scale for Employment Officers.
The Binod Bihari Mahato Koylanchal University in Dhanbad will receive Rs 77.72 crore for the development of its new campus.
The cabinet also approved presenting the Comptroller and Auditor General of India’s finance accounts and audit reports for FY 2022-23 in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly.
Further, the cabinet approved the second amendment to The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination Rules, 2021.
For legal matters, the report by the One Man Judicial Commission on irregularities in appointments and promotions in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Secretariat was forwarded for necessary action.
Environmental considerations were also addressed with the approval of a compensatory afforestation agreement with ESL Steel Limited, Vedanta, Bokaro.
In legislative reforms, the cabinet approved the repeal of the Pragyan International University Act, 2016, and sanctioned the Shine National University Bill, 2023.
Lastly, guidelines for the ‘Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana’ were also approved under the state scheme.
