West Singhbhum Athletics Championship Set to Unleash Local Talent

Jamshedpur gears up for the West Singhbhum District Athletics Championship on 23rd and 24th December, a key event for local athletes.

CHAIBASA – The West Singhbhum District Athletics Championship, a significant event in the local sports calendar, is scheduled for 23-24 December 2023 at the Association Ground in Chaibasa.

Organized by the West Singhbhum Athletics Association, in collaboration with the Jharkhand Athletics Association and West Singhbhum District Olympic Association, this championship promises to be a showcase of budding athletic talent.

Ajay Kumar Nayak, Secretary of the Association cum Athletics Association, provided insights into the competition.

It will feature various age groups: Under 14, Under 16, Under 18, Under 20, and Men – Women’s category.

The championship will include events like 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, long jump, shot put, and relay races.

Talented under 13 athletes from the 14 and 16 age groups will be selected to represent the district in the National Athletics Competition.

Performance in this event will also be a criterion for selection in the state-level athletics competition.

All participants will receive a participation certificate, and winners will be awarded medals and certificates.
