Jamshedpur Hosts National Karate Championship at Moon City’s KK Orchid Academy

Mango Dimna Road Academy Becomes Arena for Esteemed Martial Arts Event

The KK Orchid Academy on Mango Dimna Road, Moon City, Jamshedpur, recently held the prestigious two-day National Karate Championship.

JAMSHEDPUR – Moon City’s KK Orchid Academy on Mango Dimna Road was the proud host of the National Karate Championship, a two-day martial arts extravaganza.

The event was inaugurated by BJP politician and tournament chairman Vikas Singh, alongside director Rajeev Singh and social worker Anil Choubey, who ceremoniously lit the inaugural lamp.

Organized by the Jharkhand Sauri-Review-Matssyashi Du-Association, this championship marks the fourth instance of the event under the guidance of organization director Jitendra Kumar Sharma.

The tournament has attracted around 150 karatekas from states like Orissa, Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand, showcasing their skills in fierce competition.

During the opening ceremony, BJP lawmaker and organization chairman Vikas Singh highlighted the significance of karate as a form of self-defense, dating back to times when conventional weapons were unknown.

He emphasized the martial art’s traditional reliance on hand and foot techniques for self-protection.

Singh pointed out the gradual rise in the popularity of karate, despite limited governmental support compared to other sports.

He particularly encouraged girls to train in karate for self-defense in challenging situations.

The championship is set to conclude on November 27 with a closing ceremony and prize distribution.

Event organizer Jitendra Kumar Sharma, a black belt in karate, head sports teacher at Loyola Vidyalaya, Jamshedpur, has a decorated history in the sport, having competed and won titles at various levels.

The event has also brought together participants from various states, with local motels accommodating the young athletes.
