The first Jharkhand Open Unrated Chess Championship wrapped up successfully, spotlighting local chess talent and spirited competition.

JAMSHEDPUR – The first Jharkhand Open Unrated Chess Championship wrapped up successfully, spotlighting local chess talent and spirited competition.

Chief Arbiter Jayant Bhuyan, along with his team, played a crucial role in ensuring the championship ran smoothly and fairly.

The event celebrated various participants, with former Chamber of Commerce President Murlidhar Kedia among the dignitaries honoring the winners.

Veteran player Vijendra Singh Harshana was awarded the Best Veteran Player, highlighting his long-standing dedication to chess.

Prizes were distributed across multiple age categories, with players like Ridhan Goyal, T Neha, Akshat Choudhary, and Ishani Chaudhary taking home trophies and certificates.

Abhinav Prakash from Seraikela Kharsawan won third place with 7.5 points, securing a cash prize and recognition for his skills.

Trishanu Mukherjee, also from Seraikela Kharsawan, placed second with a score of 6.5 points, receiving both a cash prize and a trophy.

Anmol Murarka from West Singhbhum emerged as the champion, scoring a perfect 7 points and winning the top prize.

The championship attracted 206 participants from all districts of Jharkhand, demonstrating the wide appeal and competitive spirit of chess in the region.
