Jamshedpur Celebrates Children’s Fair-2023; Focus on Sports and Child Development
Jamshedpur hosts the vibrant five-day Children’s Fair-2023 at Children Park Complex, Sidhgora, marking World Children’s Day.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Children Park Complex in Sidhgora is abuzz with excitement as the grand five-day Children’s Fair-2023 kicked off.
The event, inaugurated by Asian Hockey Federation Vice President Bholanath Singh and Athletes Federation of India Treasurer Dr. Madhukanth Pathak, celebrates World Children’s Day.
Dignitaries like former Bihar Government Minister Amarendra Pratap Singh, Child Rights Protection Commission member Sunil Kumar Verma, and NCERT’s Anjula Sagar graced the opening ceremony.

Organized jointly by Swarnarekha Kshetra Vikas Trust and State Child Protection Commission, the fair commenced in Sidhgora Sun Temple Town Hall and Children Park.
The inauguration featured a traditional lamp lighting by the guests and a special Yagya program with 1001 lamps by Gayatri Parivar.
MLA Saryu Roy emphasized the fair’s goal of guiding Jamshedpur’s children towards wholesome development.
He advocated for the implementation of child-focused laws and acts and announced plans to transform the Sidhgora complex into a sports park, known as Sidhgora Sports Park.
The fair includes sports competitions for students from class 1 to class 12, alongside educational and entertainment programs.
Sports and education experts will contribute to the fair, enhancing its educational value.
Additionally, the State Child Protection Commission will raise awareness about child protection laws among parents and children.
Roy also shared plans funded by his MLA fund exceeding Rs 71 lakh to develop the Sidhgora complex, including a half Olympic size swimming pool and courts for volleyball and table tennis.
