In a dramatic raid, Golmuri police face stone pelting while apprehending seven individuals at a Bajrangnagar gambling den; 18 charged with obstructing government work.

JAMSHEDPUR – A police raid on a gambling den in Bajrangnagar under Golmuri police station turned violent on Friday when some individuals resorted to stone pelting.

Despite the hostility, the police successfully arrested seven people in connection with the operation.

The incident led to the registration of cases against 18 people for obstructing government duties.

Among the arrested are Trilok Singh, Manoj Kumar Yadav, Vikram Kumar, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Veer Singh alias Veeru, Savinder Singh alias Motu, and Rajkumar Aggarwal, with others still at large.

The police team, acting on confidential information about the gambling den, seized Rs 36,545 in cash, various currency notes, and three bikes from the location.

Upon their arrival to conduct the raid, the police were met with resistance, not only from the gamblers but also from several women at the scene.

This incident underscores the challenges faced by law enforcement in tackling illegal gambling activities in the area.
