JAMSHEDPUR – Heralding a new era in philanthropy, XLRI’s Daan Utsav 2023, spearheaded by the student committee, Social Initiatives Group for Managerial Assistance (SIGMA-oikos), has outdone itself.

Previously engaged in expanding menstrual health awareness among seventy-one village women, the committee also organized an insightful event at Uttari Panchayat Bhavan, Kitadih Area, in association with the Koru Foundation.

In addition, volunteers offered companionship and emotional support to over 100 residents during the Gift of Time event held at senior living facilities Nirmal Hridya and Aashirwad.

Building on last year’s success, the Cloth Donation Drives garnered 1100+ pieces of clothing for the less fortunate—a 35% increase—aided by SEEDS Organization.

The Wish Tree campaign, which forms an integral part of the initiative, registered an overwhelming response from over 130 donors, fulfilling the essential needs like ration, bedsheets, and mattresses for children associated with NGOs like People Cares and Cheshire Home.

As a grand finale to the week-long celebration, XLRI expressed its gratitude for the overwhelming community involvement in social outreach programs and expressed keen interest in scaling future efforts.
