Jharkhand Kranti Sena, Hindu Muslim Ekta Manch March Demands Resignation of Health Minister Over Dengue Crisis
Citizens of East Singhbhum, led by social organizations, protest against the deteriorating health services and escalating dengue cases, demanding swift governmental action.
JAMSHEDPUR – Disquiet was palpable in the air as a coalition of Jharkhand Kranti Sena and Hindu Muslim Ekta Manch marched from Mango Garden Sakchi to the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Wednesday.
The demonstrators voiced their grievances over the failing health infrastructure in East Singhbhum district.
A memorandum, outlining their demands for the resignation of the Health Minister, was submitted to the Governor via the Deputy Commissioner.
The rallying cry has gained momentum, especially in the wake of a spiraling dengue outbreak in the district that has led to an alarming number of fatalities.
The protesters highlighted the dismal state of healthcare, from the shortage of essential medical staff like doctors and ward boys to a dearth of beds and life-saving medications in local government hospitals, including Kolhan and Sadar.
Sanjeev Acharya, spearheading the march, castigated the Health Minister for purportedly prioritizing personal interests over the well-being of the state’s populace.
Accusing the minister of negligence, he warned of intensifying protests if their demands go unheeded.
